Deuteronomy 22:20
If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found,
Deuteronomy 22:21
She shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Apr. 2, VIRGIN (Deut. 22:20-21). Virginity is extremely imprortant for The Israelites. Not only before, but also at the present days. They can never play with virginity. The punishment is very serious for those who play with the virginity.
a. For the accuser.
By accusing or slandering a girl for not being virgin. If he is right, then, the girl would be stoned to death. If he is wrong, he is going to be fined with a great fine.
b. For the fornicator.
Both the fornicators would be punished severely.
c. For the raper.
Both the raper and the girl would be punished severely. We would wonder, how could be both be punished? Yes, because for the man whom rape the girl couldn’t be decent man. And for the girl whom going out alone, without partner or going out at night alone. This implies that we as believers and as the churches, we have to be holy for Jesus as the spiritual husband and as the head of the church. ASH.
