1 Samuel 25:18
Abigail acted quickly. She took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five dressed sheep, five seahs of roasted grain, a hundred cakes of raisins and two hundred cakes of pressed figs, and loaded them on donkeys.
1 Samuel 25:42
Abigail quickly got on a donkey and, attended by her five female servants, went with David’s messengers and became his wife.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, June 27, WEALTHY (I Sam. 25:18, 42). Abigail was not only beautiful and wise, she was also quick to do things, generous, humble to listen to her servants suggestion, love life, diligent and extremely rich. Notice, what did she have in her house. She didn’t go anywhere. She didn’t lose opportunity. She just took:
a. Food ready to eat.
Her house was full with food ready to eat. Notice how many breads in her house. She just took 200 loaves of bread. Roasted grain. 100 raisin cakes and 200 presses figs cakes.
b. Donkeys ready to ride.
All the food was mounted on the donkeys. She had many donkeys and sheep at home. The cattles were healthy. They were taken care of well. They were just ready to be used, to produce milk, to be eaten or else.
c. Servants ready to work.
She had also many servants under her. She could command on them. They obeyed her. She just asked them to accompany her to go to see David. So, Abigail was blessed with so many blessings. What a blessed life. May God bless each and every one of us too. ASH.
