Deuteronomy 14:26
Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, March 25, WINE (Deut. 14:26). To be happy is never forbidden. In fact, God encourages and blesses us to make us happy. Yes, God wants us to be happy. What makes us happy? One of the ways to make us happy is drinking. Beside eating, drinking makes men happy. It is soothing. It is relaxing. It rejuvenating. What is forbidden is not the drinking per se. What is forbidden is:
a. The revelry.
If the drinking causes all kinds of debaucheries, riots and chaos, of course it is not ok. People tend to be rebellious, rebuff and out of control. The voice, the time, the expense. If that is the condition, of course not ok.

b. The addiction.
If drinking makes men couldn’t think for anything else. His mind is focused and tied in the drinking itself. He could not not drinking. He could not think, analyze and observe anything else. His mind becomes dull.

c. The laziness.
If drinking makes men don’t want to do anything else. They would prioritize the drinkiing itself. Don’t wanna do their chores and duties. Their life become useless. Of course, these things are forbidden. So, it’s ok to drink wine, but not too far and too deep in the drinking per se. ASH.
