Numbers 4:23
Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sun, Feb. 7, WORK AT THE TENT (Num. 4:23). Not everybody is allowed to work at the tent. Those whom are allowed to work still can’t do it freely and carelessly. Working at the tent is so full with requirements and stipulations. Those whom were allowed to work must be men, no disabities, from the Levites and between the age of 30 to 50. But, they consider the work as their pride. To be allowed and to be permitted to work in the tent of meeting made them so very happy. Although, they had to do:
a. The heavy jobs.
Carrying crossbars, post, bases and stuffs were very heavy. Those stuffs were not light stuffs. They had to sweat to carry those things.
b. Same jobs.
They couldn’t change the assigned jobs. They couldn’t trade with their relatives. They couldn’t give up, stop at the middle and retreat from their jobs. No loosers at this point.
c. Boredom jobs.
Their work looked very boring. Couldn’t make sound, unlike tending cattles. Couldn’t give them good feeling, unlike playing music. Couldn’t give them good aroma, unlike the chefs. What was the benefit of carrying crossbars, posts and tent stuffs? But, they did it happily, pridefully and faithfully. May The Lord helps us to do our work the same as them, happily, pridefully and faithfully. ASH.
