Nehemiah 4:18
And each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.

Nehemiah 4:21
So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out.

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Tue, Nov. 30, WORKING (Neh. 4:18, 21). A man doesn’t afraid to work hard. He proves his manhood by working hard. We can see here, the men of Israel. They worked hard.
1. Working outdoor.
They didn’t work in the office, behind the table, air conditoned, soft cushion, etc. They worked outdoor, under the schorching sun, building the wall.

2. Weapon ready.
They carried a sword on their sides. They carried extra weight. It made them worked heavier. Usually, working if possible, was done with light and casual clothes, not with a sword like that. Perhaps, even with a few other armor equipments.

3. Wailer excluded.
They worked so hard from early in the morning, when the sun rised to almost evening, when the stars came out. They worked consistently and continuously. Really amazing. May The Lord helps us to work hard in our own duties and chores. ASH.
