Zechariah 13:6
If someone asks, ‘What are these wounds on your body ?’ they will answer, ‘The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.’

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Thu, Aug 13, WOUNDS (Zech. 13:6). Being a prophet is really not an easy task. A prophet has to be ready to be ridiculed, insulted and underestimated psychologically. But on top of that, a prohet is also has to be ready to be wounded, hurt and hit physically. Not only a true prophet, even the wrong one may experience things like that. Wounded, bruised and blistered are often experienced by them. Why did they want to receive experience like that? Why many people want to be a prophet? Why many people willing to lie to be a prophet although he was not called and sent by God? The fame, the honor, the respect of people are the answers. They want to be worshipped and considered as gods. So, they willing to pay the cost. But not for a long time. They will leave the prophethood, if they experience too much persecutions. The real prophet got the calling and message from God. It is the secret of their strength and live long ministry. They are not afraid of suffering, wounds and difficulties. They will not be mistaken. Their message always true. They will serve God to their life end. These days are the same. There are true and wrong prophets. The people have to be careful not to listen and follow to the wrong ones.
