1 Kings 17:12
“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”
1 Kings 17:15
She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, Aug. 13, ZAREPHATH (I Kg. 17:12, 15). Who knows that in Zadefhath, there was a widow whom was very patient and noble. We really are blessed by the testimony of her life.
a. She was a widow.
She didn’t angry to herself, to her destiny, to her husband for leaving her so fast almost with nothing for life.
b. She was poor.
She was not rich. She was poor. She didn’t depend on anyboldy. She didn’t angry to her son, whom was still small and could do anything.
c. She was starving.
She experienced starving for the plague that God sent to her town. The brook where Elijah lived temporarily had dried up. No rain. No crops. The life was very difficult. Yet, she didn’t lose faith. She still believed in God. Believed in the foreigner and messenger. She didn’t expelled Elijah. She prioritized Elijah. She gave a part of her last food to him. Amazing. let’s keep believing in God, no matter what our life may become. ASH.
