Galatians 1:23
They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Sept. 24, DOUBLE STOP (Gal. 1:23). Before … now … A clear cut between the past and the present. Paul had a clear cut in his life. No connection. No repetition. No assimilation. He was just not doing what he was doing before. He stopped completely. He was never found repeating the same sin again. Catching. Persecuting. Killing. He was a new man. He was just different 180 degrees. He was not stopped by men, cultures or laws. He didn’t stop because someone caught him red handed doing his cruelties. He didn’t stop because he didn’t like to do his sin anymore. He was stopped by God. So God didn’t only stop him on his journey to Damascus alone, but also stop him from doing his sins again. Double stop. He was changed by God, from a killer to a preacher. A magnificent make over. God can do the same thing in our life. Just let him do it withouy any limitations and restrictions. (ASH)
