Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey

Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Wed, Aug 12, DONKEY (Zech. 9:9). Why did God choose donkey as his ride? Why did he not choose a stallion? A mighty elephant? Or seated on a gold throne lifted by giant slaves? A donkey? Ugly, stupid, small and weak can be put on a donkey. But God chose a donkey. It was not a mistake. It was not a must. It was not a mask. It conveys many lessons.
a. This is the unconditional love. No condition required for his love.
b. This is the unaffected love. His love is not affected by the limitations of its object.
c. This is the undeniable love. He is the one who comes and seeks the lost and needy. He is not asked to come. He doesn’t come to the haves and healthy. He doesn’t need to be paid. He is the one who gives and saves.
If God can use a donkey, he can use anybody. God can use us too. Shall we be available to be used by God? (ASH)
