Jeremiah 43:12
He will set fire to the temples of the gods of Egypt; he will burn their temples and take their gods captive. As a shepherd picks his garment clean of lice, so he will pick Egypt clean and depart.
Shalom sdr, my devotion today, Fri, July 10, PICK (Jer. 43:12). Many times, God shows that the gods whom men worship actually are not god at all. They are powerless, helpless and clueless. Especially the gods of Egypt. The gods whom worshipped and considered very great by The Egyptian and the world. The gods whom believed has made Egypt successful. But they were easily defeated and destroyed. In the time of Moses. And now in the time of Jeremiah. God sent Nebuchadnezar, king of Babylon to destroy Egypt easily. Not only the people, but alai the gods. The picture is just like picking up dirty clothe. So very easy. Therefore, let’s worship God, the true God of Isr and not other. -ash
